Conference Pics:)

I thought I would hop on here and share a few pics of Corrie at the women's conference this past weekend. Thank you to all the ladies at Cuba Baptist Church for being so sweet to us during our time there, we all agreed that we felt God's Spirit in your midst.

This is Corrie, anxiously waiting to share God's word.

This is Corrie with the other speakers. They are (from left to right) Cathy Riley, Pat Nelson, and Page Hughes. These ladies are truly phenomenal people and God was just all over them.

This is Corrie with her bff and prayer warrior, Angel Jowers.

This was just the beginning. We are still standing in awe of our God and what He has accomplished just this past weekend. It is obvious that this was the official kick-off of "Corrie as God's spokeswoman". So, I guess we better get prepared for plenty more glorious weekends like this one. I'm sure they will include, but won't be limited to, long rides (car or plane?!?), fast food (and the inevitable tummy ache associated with it), frequent stops at gas stations (for a fresh Mtn. Dew and a much needed bath room break), and plenty more stays at the "Comfort Inn & Suites". Oh, I am so looking forward to the many more road trips to come!

Now for a few "shout-outs":

  • A very special thanks to Shane for supporting and encouraging Corrie especially for this weekend.

  • Another very special thanks to Corrie's mom, Judy (aka maw-maw to a certain someone) for keeping Canaan this weekend.

  • And a special thanks to Canaan for being good for maw-maw and trying to get better from his cold.

Before I go, please continue praying for Corrie. This past week she has been in the hospital with a few complications regarding her disease. She is currently at home now, recovering from all the tests and blood work they did on her. Please continue to remember and lift her up when you pray.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave us a comment and let us know who you are. If you are having problems leaving comments I'll try to walk you through it. To know Him is to love Him

The conference! The conference! The conference! I am so excited to write to you about the Di's Hope Annual Conference that was held yesterday in Cuba, Al. I was so humbled to be asked to share about my ministry and a few words that God had laid on my heart for that particular group of precious ladies. I cannot tell you how powerful it was to feel God move throughout the hearts of those that were there. For those of you that were unable to attend, my message centred around Ephesian 3: 17-19. Paul is speaking to the Ephesians and telling them about how exciting it is to KNOW Christ. I felt God lead me to share 3 steps that one can take to know God on a personal level gained from Paul's writings. How often, as Christan's, do we walk away from a powerful Sunday worship service, a revival, or a conference, and feel "pumped up" for God? But as time goes by, that excitement turns to distance between our Father. This used to be very frustrating for me in my Christan walk. How could I keep this distance from appearing? That's when God invited me to carry this ministry of closing that gap or distance with a message of knowing Him...really knowing Him. Paul says God must first (1.)dwell within us. This is salvation. One must invite Christ into their lives before ever getting to know Him. (2.) Paul then discusses we must be rooted and established in love. The root of a plant is so very important. It is the heart of the plant and determines the plant's direction. So many of us are not "rooted" within God. One meaning of establish is "to accept as true". We doubt God so often. Even when he answers our prayers. But we can't 'accept it to be true' because we don't know Him and therefore can't trust Him. Why can't we just believe verses like 1 Peter 5:7 when he asks us to cast all our anxiety on Him? Why? Because we don't know Him the way he intends. (3.) Paul then says we must KNOW Him. This is a process in itself that I will write about soon on the future posts because it is just too much to cram on here for tonight!! I hope you enjoy worshiping our Lord on this blog as much as I do. I plan to do alot more of it. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me this week in preparation for the conference. I am so very blessed to have you as prayer warriors... Love, Corrie

To God be the glory!

Hey everyone! First of all, let me begin by thanking all of you who have encouraged me and prayed for me during one of the most important weeks of my life. Many of you already know that yesterday, January 22, 2008, I officially gave my resignation at my current job as a therapist. For a long time, God has allowed me to know that one day I would be totally committed to my calling in His ministry. In 2003, God spoke to my heart and created a ministry for me to lead called Filling the Gap Ministry. The purpose of this ministry is to teach people how to begin, maintain, or renew a personal relationship with Him on a phenomenal level. Though he has used me for many years to minister to those with mental illness and addiction, I am now moving to an ever greater calling that He has been preparing me for for the last five years. He then spoke to my heart on Monday and told me to resign at my job on Tuesday. When Shane and I looked at our finances, my lack of income showed that we would be loosing $ 300.00 per month. I began to seek God more that day asking Him, did HE KNOW we would be $300.00 short each month if I did this!!!??? hahha!! (like he didn't know!!) The impression grew stronger to resign. I struggled so much that rainy Monday. I knew what to do... I had heard His voice... But could I really walk away with no financial net and from the only career I'd ever known? So many of you began to pray for me at this time. With tears streaming down, I surrendered to God everything. Our finances, the ministry, my clients who I'd leave behind..everything. I am not telling this story for any praise of my own. I simply wanted you all to know this story so that WHEN I TELL you HOW God provides for us each month, we will all be amazed at the God we serve! I am whole-heartedly committed to telling others how to know Him. I have realized that if God shows us just exactly how everything will work out, then this is not faith because there is no crisis of belief. I encourage you who are listening for His voice to wait and be still. When He speaks, I hope you will follow Him because you love Him and trust that He will take care of you. I am so excited to see what God is fixing to do in my life and in the people's lives that want to see Him move. Please pray for me this weekend as I speak in Cuba, Al. Please lift up the hearts of those who will hear Him. I currently have a cold and I ask that you pray God sustain my voice. I hope this message has comforted any of you who are struggling with your question of faith. Just know that when you step out....it feels great!!!! Love you all, Corrie

I would just like to say thank you for allowing Corrie to share her life and this awesome ministry God has given her with you through this blog. You don't know how much you have already blessed and encouraged her through your comments. We pray this blog will be a blessing to you as well.

We love you,
Katie (yes its me, even though it says posted by Corrie. hey, I'm learning slowly...but maybe not so surely:)

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone! I'm so excited about this blog!!!! (Even though I know nothing about blogging!haha) This will be a way to share my life with you and yours with me. Each week, someone calls or sends a card encouraging me with dealing with my disease. It is virtually impossible that I update all of those who earnestly pray for me on my condition. This blog will be a way to keep you updated on me and more importantly, the ministry. I have recently gotten back from Boston where I see a world-renowned specialist for what I have. For those of you who ask about the "crazy name" of my disease, it is called Takayasu's Arteritis-An autoimmune disease which causes my main arteries to close, preventing blood flow. It is rare, limiting 1 person per million in the US with it. (I am rare!!!That's for sure!!) I got a better report than I did the first time I went to Boston. I found that the disease had slowed down but had not stopped. It is important to stop it and place it into remission. This weekend, I had a flare up. Please pray that God will place the disease into remission by finding the correct medication for me. Anyway, enough about that doom and gloom! Now to the exciting part!!! I will be speaking Jan. 26 in Cuba, AL at a conference. Please pray that God will use me in a mighty way to speak to the hearts of those who hear. It is going to be great! The ministry is finally taking shape and taking off. It has been crazy getting ready for it but I can officially say that I have buckled my seat belt and am ready for take off!!! A special thanks to my sister-in-law, Katie Taylor, for listening to God and being obedient to create this blog. You'll never know how much I love and appreciate you, Katie. A daughter of the King, Corrie
